I went to Germany last week for SAP TechEd. It was great. It SNOWED! Oh and there were pretty cars everywhere.

Oh and there's stuff about history and architecture there too...

These were the ones from my point and shoot cameras (more can be found at my germany web pics internets sites)

Oh and I think they had beer too...

The ZOOOOO

I went to the zoo yesterday. It was fun. I took pictures. Tried to do too much with some. Still learning the camera. There was a butterfly exhibit that I enjoyed...

The orangutans were having play time - the female was poking the male with a stick and then chased him a bit.

She caught him...

The rest can be found here.

It was a great day - the birds, aquarium, and the herpetarium exhibits all had weird lighting that I couldn't get used to with the camera so those didn't come out well.

So here it be...

I'm just sitting at work waiting for stuff to happen. Not a damn thing I can do about it either. Its just a matter of other teams making sure that my team has little to no life. Of course, with me being single and having no kids, this causes me to get more work. I'm the one who gets to work most of the weekends. Thankfully its College Football season and I refuse to work most weekends because of games.

Why am I whining? I don't know. I'm just tired... physically and mentally. Thankfully I really like the work that I do, otherwise I'd be trying to get out of this place. Don't get me wrong, I'm trying to get out of this place, but I want to continue doing similar work in a better venue.

Does Google use SAP?
Anyone know of any places in Maryland that are hiring SAP Basis people?
You can also replace Maryland with Chicago or Seattle or Portland or DC or Philly.

I really hope I hear SOMETHING from one of the places I've sent my resume. I would love to be 29 years old, living someplace nice like Annapolis, and financially stable. Everything else can come after that.

More pictures

I took a half day on 9/12 and went downtown to take some pictures and experiment with HDR. Below you will see the results of that excursion.

My first attempt at an HDR image. I think it came out pretty well. Its (of course) the world famous Peabody Hotel in Memphis.

A second attempt. I had my tripod on the grass with this one so it was a little more difficult. I believe next time I do this i'll make sure I have a completely flat surface and use my remote. This one turned out pretty ok too.

The same as above just as a regular picture. You can see the difference between the HDR and the regular.

Some of the nicest houses in Memphis, right on the bluffs overlooking the mighty Mississippi.

As for a Basis Admin, I am one of a few people who keep ~190 systems up and running. SAP is an ERP (Enterprise Resource Planning System). We use just about every component that SAP offers. Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and Supplier Relationship Management (SRM) are the systems I'm currently working on the most. I have just completed a full upgrade of our SRM system from SRM 3.0 to SRM 5.0 with SRM Server 5.5. Woooo.

So yeah. Thats what I do and I will hopefully be taking more pictures and getting better at the whole HDR thing.

Hello World .blog

So here it is. I now have 3 places that I will be spamming my pictures and whiny rants about nothing and women and work and life. Hopefully I'll have more pictures. Memphis isn't very photogenic where I live.

I whine about my current job situation a lot. I like what I do, just not necessarily where I do it. I'm not a big fan of my boss. I'm also not a big fan of the company I work for. I sometimes look for new jobs, but don't follow up because I'm too busy at work. On a good week I'll only work a few hours over 40. On a bad week, like last week, I'll work closer to 70 hours total. This week is shaping up to be a bad week. I've already put in 33 hours and its only Thursday morning. I know I'll be up to 40 by the end of today. Thankfully I might have tomorrow off, but I get to work on Sunday!

I am an SAP Basis Administrator. If you know what I do, then you probably also know how much my job can suck. But thats the fun thing, I love the work that I do. For those of you who don't know what an SAP Basis Administrator does, we're basically System Admins for SAP. SAP is and ERP. I could get into the full alphabet soup of all the components, but I'd probably just make your head hurt.

I'm 27. I'll be 28 on the 28th of August.

So thats about it.

These are kinda old posts...

I took some pictures at the Germantown Fireworks show last night. Not all of them are uploaded yet...actually only about 20 of them are (out of 160). Let me know what you think of them. I know some are screwed up, and I plan on doing a few things different next time I take pictures.

They are located here.

All pics are up and available at ltbs.us/pics. There are two albums currently; the first being "New York." All of these were taken with the Nikon Coolpix L4. The "New York 2" album's pictures were taken with the Canon Digital EOS Rebel XTi.

Yes I was going for artsy on a lot of the shots, and I do believe that many of them would be better in black and white, but I am happy with the way things came out. I am happy that I will get to use my camera a lot more.

I liked this house a lot. I took a few night pictures of it and some turned out ok. It was an awesome house on a corner lot. Unfortunately for them, right across the street was a beach, but between the beach and the road there was a ton of brush that blocked their view. I'm sure they dont mind too much.

A giant car eating boat.

WindSurfer Jerkface who can windsurf while i'm in Memphis jerk man.

See all these jerks with jerky boats. I hate them all, the jerks.

Oh hay, whats up beach! I like the beach. I didn't like the water too much, but I like the beach.

There are more pics there. Browse through them, use them as your desktop backgrounds, just dont leech them from my site ok. Thanks lovers.
